Kathmandu, Nepal...Hindu Cremation Rituals
Today I am sharing with you the ritual of Hindu cremation. All Hindus are cremated in this way. The woman with the broom is cleaning the Hindu crematorium. Everything that remains after the cremation is swept into the river. On the left, the body is waiting for cremation, and incense is being burned. On the far right, the feet are dipped into the river, and the picture just to the left of this shows the spreading of spices on the funeral pyre.

These three pictures below show the actual cremation as well as a woman watching the process. Even children watch. It is important that there is plenty of smoke. The two largest religions here are Hindu and Buddhism. In my next blog we will look at the Buddhist temples, priests and Buddhist worship.
